Standing for minutes in front of a coffee machine, in an elevator, or in a bread line used to be a natural pause that allowed the mind to wander or reflect. Today, these few seconds have become unbearable, like a void that must be immediately filled with any digital content. The issue is not the waiting itself, but our inability to endure it unmediated. The smartphone has entered these moments not only as an entertainment tool, but as an escape mechanism. As soon as we stop physically, we move digitally: Quick scrolling, messages, short clips.
